About Alabaster Corp. Products

Alabaster Corporation is a bioremediation company, which specializes in the elimination of hydrocarbon contamination and environmental consulting. The company produces and develops bioremediation chemicals and materials. These materials are designed as a two-part system consisting of live, “oil eating” microbes and an advancement solution. The advancement solutions are a combination of chemicals designed to break down the hydrocarbons for ingestion by the microbes and to promote a proper biological environment for the microbes to flourish. When properly applied, the hydrocarbons are reduced to harmless fatty acids, carbon dioxide and water.

Since it's beginning Alabaster Corporation has been involved with over 1000 successful bioremediation projects including hundreds of PST storage tank installations and removals. Additionally Alabaster Corporation is listed in the United States Department of Defense Central Contractor Registration list with a standing BPA or (Blanket Purchase Approval) for our bioremediation, dispersant and surface washing products. Alabaster Bioremediation Products are used in a wide variety of applications from large-scale waste site or environmental pollution clean up to smaller scale uses in various industries. Alabaster has furnished microbic chemicals and solutions to the Panama Canal Commission, The U.S. Navy (Norfolk Naval Station), The U.S. Air Force (Langley Air Force Base) under the Alabaster label.

Will break up the hydrocarbons on contact and can render the spill NON-FLAMMABLE! Leaving no slippery residue when washed down. It is that simple! Excellent for Aviation and Aerospace fuel spills! Petro Clean Will Even Break Down and Remediate Glycols!

Petro-Clean is on the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency's NCP Product Schedule This listing does NOT mean that EPA approves, recommends, licenses, certifies, or authorizes the use of Petro-Clean on an oil discharge. This listing means only that data have been submitted to EPA as required by subpart J of the National Contingency Plan, Sec. 300.915.

Alabaster Corp. Company History and Key Personnel

Alabaster Corporation is backed by over 40 years of industry experience.

Mr. Charles Sheffield came aboard as the CEO of Alabaster Corp. in 1992 after his son John Sheffield incorporated it.. Prior to this he founded Allied Industrial Services Incorporated (AIS) and served as President and CEO from 1976 to 1988. Under Allied Industrial Services, Mr. Sheffield managed contracts worth over $40 million within a six-year period in waste water treatment plant expansion projects under the Federal Clean Water Act. Under his management Allied Industrial Services managed contracts worth over $100 million in industrial and commercial construction, asbestos, lead and hazardous waste abatement. During this period Allied Industrial Services was a major provider of industrial and marine coating and insulation services as well as an asbestos abatement contractor throughout the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. Mr. Sheffield has served as Chairman and President of The Houston Coating Society and is recognized by NACE (The National Association of Corrosion Engineers) as a Corrosion Specialist and Engineer. From 1955 to 1976, Mr. Sheffield was a Supervisor and Construction Foreman at Lubrizol Corporation. During his time at Lubrizol he was a member of the emergency response and fire fighting team. He was instrumental in the development of various waste management and biotreatment techniques used on site. He is listed as a member in the International Directory of "Who's Who" amongst professionals. Over the years, he worked his way up in various positions gaining experience in industrial contracting, coating and insulations, emergency response and waste management. He was also instrumental in the development and testing of various fuel additive products.

Building on knowledge and experience with treating environmental and hazardous waste gained on contracts with a variety of clients ranging from the U.S. Department of Energy to Petro-Peru, Mr. Sheffield began to develop environmentally safe cleaning chemicals and microbic bioremediation products and methods. He was a contractor on over 22 major water treatment plant expansions from 1986 through 1990 under the federal mandate of the Clean Water Act and in this context first developed many specialized techniques now utilized by Alabaster Corporation. In summary, Mr. Sheffield has brought over 45 years of technical and practical hands on experience and knowledge in the areas of bioremediation, hazardous waste management, treatment, biotechnology, project management and corporate leadership.

Mr. John Charles Sheffield, the President of Alabaster Corp. Mr. Sheffield began his career as a commercial real estate agent in Houston Texas at the age of 18. Recognizing a need for experienced and qualified environmental services within the real estate and lending industry, he incorporated Alabaster Corp. in 1992 as a environmental consulting business. It was his vision to start a company with a line of environmental products for various remediation uses providing solutions to pollution. Being "raised in the business" under the guidance of his father, Mr. Sheffield has a broad familiarity with many aspects of environmental and emergency response applications. After consulting with his father for experience and business guidance, Alabaster Corp. was formed. At that time, the idea of commercially available microbes for bioremediation was very new. The concept of providing a line of specialized chemicals along with specific microbial blends for various contaminates had just been born with Alabaster Corp.

In 1996 Mr. Sheffield won a grant from the Texas Department of Commerce for businesses that showed promise in innovation and economic potential. The grant was used for an environmental education program at Texas A&M University. The program involved curriculum prepared for the Department of Defense by Texas A&M. This program focused on environmental remediation, emergency response and hazardous waste management. During this time, Mr. Sheffield received training and certifications in Hazardous materials response and waste operations, remediation, environmental assessments and testing, and asbestos related courses. In 1997 Mr. Sheffield filled an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for "The Injection Foaming Process for the Treatment of Volatile Organic Compounds." Since then he has been involved in the contribution of several environmental related products and processes on file in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

John Sheffield oversees the company's Environmental Site Assessment consulting and the implementation and marketing of bioremediation and company products. Along with his father and Dr. Megarity, he has conceptualized and assisted in the development of the Alabaster Corp. product line from the naming of products to field application. He oversees marketing, product information and management.
